About the Role
The role involves creating and interpreting hydraulic simulations to support civil and environmental projects, ensuring systems are efficient, sustainable, and compliant with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and calibrate hydraulic and hydrologic models for water distribution and stormwater systems
- Conduct flow analysis for drainage, floodplains, and wastewater networks
- Support design teams with data-driven modeling insights
- Perform simulations to predict system performance under various conditions
- Collaborate with engineers and planners on infrastructure projects
- Prepare technical reports and documentation for clients and regulators
- Use software tools such as EPANET, SWMM, HEC-RAS, or equivalent
- Evaluate system capacity and identify potential improvements
- Assist in the development of master plans for water resources
- Ensure modeling practices meet industry standards and project requirements
- Participate in field data collection and site assessments
- Integrate GIS data into modeling workflows
- Troubleshoot model discrepancies and refine inputs for accuracy
- Present findings to internal teams and external stakeholders
- Support environmental compliance and permitting efforts
- Work on projects involving urban development, transportation, and municipal systems
- Apply engineering principles to solve complex water management challenges
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of modeling methodologies and software
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across project phases
- Contribute to project scheduling and deliverables tracking
