Allegheny Health Network is hiring an Advanced Practice Provider specializing in Pulmonology to deliver specialty healthcare services. You'll be an integral part of the care delivery system, working within the scope and standards of practice to manage acute and chronic health conditions. This role may involve 24/7 coverage, specialty procedures, and on-call duties.
What You'll Do
- Perform complete, detailed, and accurate patient histories, review records, and conduct full physical examinations.
- Order and interpret laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic studies to determine patient treatment plans.
- Make medical diagnoses and institute appropriate therapy within your scope and standards of practice.
- Provide timely documentation to support medical coding and billing processes.
- Provide instructions and guidance regarding medical care to patients and their families.
- Record and report pertinent information in the EMR and to the attending physician of record.
- Perform hospital rounds, document patient progress notes, and transcribe or execute specific orders at the direction of the attending physician.
- Institute emergency measures and treatment in acute patient situations such as cardiac arrest, hemorrhage, or shock.
- Identify and inform the attending physician of record of all significant changes to a patient’s condition in a timely manner.
- Maintain mandatory professional continuing education.
- Actively participate in medical education for student learners and professional staff.
- Actively participate in patient safety, quality improvement processes, and patient engagement and satisfaction initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with the medical staff office.
- Maintain professional practice consistent with organizational and advanced practice mission statements.
- Perform specialty-specific procedures and meet expectations as stated with privileging and job agreement.
What We're Looking For
- Graduation from an ARC-PA accredited program and certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants OR Graduation from a PA State Board of Nursing Approved Master’s or Post Master’s program.
- Current Pennsylvania Physician Assistant License OR Current Pennsylvania CRNP license and current Pennsylvania RN license.
- CRNPs must obtain Pennsylvania Prescriptive Authority license within 60 days of hire.
- National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioners through the AANP or ANCC required for CRNPs.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Nice to Have
- 1-3 years of specialty practice experience.
- 1-3 years of clinical experience.
- ACLS certification.
- Specialty certification as available by national agencies.
- DEA license.
