About the Role

The Walt Disney Company is hiring a Digital Marketing Specialist who will support Disney Entertainment brands by developing fan-first strategies for editorial content, social engagement, and creator collaborations. You will play a key role in fostering community love and maintaining the digital cultural relevance of our flagship brand platforms.

What You'll Do

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the monthly community engagement calendar.
  • Execute daily engagement tactics including fan outreach, surprise & delight opportunities, and sourcing user-generated content (UGC).
  • Manage owned post engagements and outbound engagement opportunities with fans and talent.
  • Write engagement-focused copy and recommend creative assets aligned with campaign goals.
  • Draft and edit copy that aligns with brand voice, tone, and platform best practices.
  • Ideate new social concepts to engage digital audiences, leaning into brand-safe trends.
  • Stay abreast of digital trends, fan behaviors, platform innovations, and cultural moments.
  • Proactively surface relevant insights to inform content planning and engagement tactics.
  • Route all assets for internal approvals and communicate feedback to stakeholders.
  • Deliver final approved assets and copy to partners, aligned with publishing timing.
  • Work with brand teams on developing creator content for owned social platforms.
  • Support brand digital teams on event community engagement moments.
  • Identify and elevate superfans for special moments.
  • Liaise daily with broader digital and content teams to support studio and franchise priorities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams through the content development lifecycle.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of 2+ years of social media or community management experience within a consumer-facing media company or global brand.
  • Strong writing and copyediting skills with a clear understanding of brand voice and tone.
  • Familiarity with digital trends, fandom culture, and social platform best practices.
  • Experience managing editorial calendars and working within approval workflows.
  • Basic understanding of digital analytics and performance tracking.
  • Superior knowledge of social platforms and their native products.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google Suite, and Box.
  • Understanding of social media platforms: YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.
  • Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects on tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with a strong work ethic and high level of confidentiality.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to use sound judgement.
  • BA or BS in Journalism, Film, Marketing, and/or a relevant field, or 5+ years of additional experience beyond the required 2+ years.
  • Familiarity with The Walt Disney Company’s brand and content.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience with tools: AirTable, Smartsheets, and/or Zendesk.
  • Experience in Sprinklr, Creator Studio, Keynote, Google Slides.
  • Experience within brand entertainment marketing and/or streaming services.
  • Previous experience working with large, matrixed organizations.
  • Familiarity with theatrical campaign marketing, streaming platforms, or brand marketing.

Team & Environment

You will be part of the Disney Entertainment Digital Marketing Center of Excellence Audience Strategy & Community Team, with multiple positions available. You will report to a (Sr) Manager and work closely with relevant brand digital teams.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Annual salary range of $64,300.00 to $86,200.00.
  • Full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
  • Bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided.

Work Mode

This is an onsite position based in Glendale, CA, USA.
