Horizon Recovery is seeking a highly detail-oriented Accounting & Admin professional. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accuracy across direct bill and agency bill reconciliations, commission tracking, trust accounting, and financial reporting for our insurance accounting operations.
What You'll Do
- Reconcile direct bill (download and non-download) by verifying commissions, validating percentages, importing transactions into EPIC, and associating carrier payments.
- Perform non-download reconciliation by pulling carrier statements, verifying payment receipt, recording statements, and associating payments in EPIC.
- Manage receipts and trust accounting by recording carrier, vendor, and client payments from bank registers and maintaining trust account activity in Excel.
- Record disbursements for carriers, vendors, and clients, and identify any missing disbursements using bank registers.
- Prepare payroll journal entries twice monthly for salaries, taxes, insurance, and 401(k) contributions.
- Issue new and renewal finance contracts for the Marketing and Senior Account Manager teams, submit them for funding, and follow up with finance companies.
- Invoice clients based on carrier invoices and quotes, support agency bill workflows, and collaborate with Senior Account Managers to set up reconciliations for CPA review.
- Handle daily accounting activities including following up on unpaid invoices, attaching paid receipts in EPIC, and tracking missing carrier invoices or documentation.
- Process broker/producer commissions by pulling reports, reconciling accounts, and preparing data for payment.
- Complete SIAA monthly reporting by printing statements, recording premium and commission data online, processing payments, and emailing documentation.
- Support month-end and year-end processes by following up on missing statements, resolving discrepancies, preparing reports with the Controller, and assisting the CPA.
- Manage vendors by attaching invoices in EPIC, processing payments, and attaching payment receipts.
- Monitor Sircon for state license renewals to ensure timely renewal and compliance.
What We're Looking For
- Excellent attention to detail and reconciliation skills.
- Experience handling commissions, trust accounting, and carrier statements.
- Comfortable working with Excel for tracking and reporting.
- Strong follow-up and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage recurring deadlines and high-volume transactions.
- This is a full-time role.

- Experience in insurance accounting or agency operations.
- Strong working knowledge of Applied EPIC.
