American Iron and Metal is hiring an Account Manager to lead our sourcing efforts for catalytic converters. You will be the key link in building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, purchasing material at competitive prices, and ensuring quality and compliance through hands-on work. This role is central to our recycling operations and mission.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing catalytic converter suppliers.
- Actively seek out potential suppliers to procure catalytic converters at advantageous prices.
- Prepare and submit bids for quotes, calculating resources and gathering data during on-site visits.
- Regularly connect with suppliers face-to-face to understand their challenges and needs.
- Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and pricing developments.
- Evaluate catalytic converters based on market factors and conduct negotiations directly with suppliers.
- Perform detailed on-site inspections of purchased catalytic converters to verify authenticity and compliance.
- Safely lift and inspect catalytic converters to assess condition and quality.
- Monitor sales data and market trends, providing regular reports and forecasts.
- Work closely with operations and logistics teams to coordinate purchasing, processing, and shipping.
- Stay updated on relevant regulations and compliance standards.
- Help suppliers and customers understand the value of recycling catalytic converters.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in account management, business development, or sales.
- Excellent negotiation, persuasion, and relationship-building skills.
- Analytical mindset with ability to analyze market trends, pricing data, and sales performance.

Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience preferably in the metal recycling or automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of catalytic converters, their composition, and market dynamics.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance related to metal recycling and catalytic converters.
