Shape Market Strategy and Fuel GrowthAs a Business Development Manager, you will lead the development and execution of targeted strategies to grow market presence and revenue across a defined geographic region. Your focus will be on identifying high-potential opportunities, aligning with underwriting priorities, and strengthening agency engagement through informed, data-driven planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement business development plans that respond to market dynamics, competitive activity, and regional economic trends.
- Build trusted relationships with agency leaders and staff, positioning as a strategic partner in their success.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver product insights, underwriting direction, and customer experience advantages that deepen agency commitment.
- Analyze territory performance using market analytics to identify growth opportunities, optimize book composition, and guide agency appointments or exits.
- Develop and manage agency compensation programs, including profit sharing and performance incentives.
- Lead training initiatives to strengthen internal capabilities and support agent development.
- Coordinate with sales, product, and underwriting teams to create effective marketing and sales materials.
- Deliver presentations and strategic guidance to both internal stakeholders and external partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, with at least five years of experience in commercial sales or underwriting.
- Proven ability to influence decision-making and drive results in complex sales environments.
- Strong financial and business acumen, with a track record of achieving production and profitability goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences confidently.
- Skilled in negotiation, relationship management, and collaborative problem-solving.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing new opportunities.
- Willingness to work outside standard hours as needed to support business demands.
Work Environment
This role operates in a hybrid model, requiring presence in Idaho, Utah, or Oregon. While remote work is supported, candidates near Boise/Meridian are expected to work on-site 3–4 days per week. Flexibility and responsiveness are key to success in this position.
