WeatherBug is hiring an Account Executive - NYC to lead sales of our custom partnerships and first-party data to brands and agencies in New York City. In this role, you will be responsible for consultative selling, building a new client base from the ground up, and managing key relationships with NYC-based Hold Cos. You'll be a pivotal sales leader in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
What You'll Do
- Manage strong relationships with NYC-based Hold Cos.
- Sell new business with exceptional cold calling and prospecting skills.
- Develop new markets for WeatherBug where little or no revenue exists now.
- Meet or exceed quota on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Establish senior agency and client direct relationships, engaging decision makers.
- Hold at least 5 meetings per week with a focus on a 'pitch a day' mentality.
- Present WeatherBug's value proposition in a compelling manner.
- Manage a territory, including building an action plan and prioritizing opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams such as Operations and Account Management.
- Represent WeatherBug as a thought leader in the advertising ecosystem.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in digital sales, preferably mobile.
- Knowledge of and experience within the media and publishing landscape.
- A large range of strong existing relationships and contacts with agencies, advertisers, and Hold Co agencies.
- A proven track record of building a new client base and meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
- Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and closing skills.
- Experience creating strategic partnerships and the ability to 'push back' gracefully.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, in person, over Zoom, and over the phone.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with close attention to detail, deadlines, and goals.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, manage time effectively, and deliver high-quality work independently.
- A data-driven approach to sales, using metrics and performance data.
- Experience managing performance by setting clear, measurable goals.
- Strong networking ability and relationship management skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.
- Comfort working in a home office or remote environment with a high level of self-sufficiency and initiative.
- Willingness and desire to quickly learn the evolving identity, first-party data, and privacy landscapes.
- Coachability and openness to feedback, with a growth-oriented mindset.
- A professional, respectful approach to working with colleagues and clients.
