Planet is hiring an Account Executive, Defence & Intelligence, France to expand our business with French Government clients. Based in France, you will be responsible for growing Planet's sales pipeline and revenue within the Ministère des Armées and the Armées Françaises by identifying, negotiating, and closing significant deals.
What You'll Do
- Develop the sales pipeline needed to achieve or exceed your revenue targets.
- Collaborate closely with the Global Defence & Intelligence Sales team and Leadership.
- Work with the marketing team to run campaigns and identify new opportunities.
- Prospect, develop business relationships, close sales, and manage customer expectations.
- Collaborate with the wider Commercial team to foster and grow customer relationships.
- Engage qualified prospects through the entire sales journey, navigating contract and procurement obstacles.
- Manage the contracting and Government procurement process.
- Work with Solution Engineering to design and validate customer solutions.
- Partner with post-sales and customer success teams to ensure successful customer onboarding.
- Maintain an extensive and accurate sales pipeline using Salesforce.com.
- Create custom customer-facing presentations and proposals.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate professional experience.
- 6+ years of experience selling software and SaaS solutions with a proven track record.
- 6+ years of experience selling to government customers, with a nuanced understanding of their sales cycles.
- Demonstrated success finding and winning business with the Ministère des Armées and Armées Françaises.
- Deep understanding of military operations, planning, and the role of intelligence.
- Excellent existing relationships across the Ministère des Armées, Armées Françaises, and its partner ecosystem.
- Ability to satisfy French Nationality and other requirements to hold a Security Clearance.
- Excellent communication skills and fluent/native proficiency in French.
- Self-starter ability to work independently under tight deadlines in a startup environment.
- Excellent judgment, decision-making, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
- Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Salesforce.com or a similar CRM system.
Nice to Have
- Ability to speak languages beyond French.
- An existing Security Clearance at a suitable level for engaging all levels of Command.
- Being an active Armed Forces Reserve member or a veteran with relevant intelligence experience.
