Join a national insurance organization as a Workers Comp Claims Specialist, operating fully remotely across the United States. In this senior role, you will oversee a high-volume portfolio of complex workers' compensation cases, conducting thorough investigations to assess coverage, liability, and damages. Your expertise will guide fair and compliant resolutions while ensuring all legal and regulatory standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the evaluation and management of intricate claims, determining compensability and appropriate reserves within delegated authority
- Conduct in-depth investigations, gathering evidence and coordinating with medical providers, legal teams, and claimants
- Negotiate settlements and represent the company at mediations, arbitrations, and depositions when necessary
- Communicate clearly and professionally with insured parties, attorneys, and external partners to explain coverage decisions
- Ensure accurate documentation of all case activity, correspondence, and financial transactions
- Approve payments promptly and within established guidelines
- Provide mentorship and performance guidance to junior staff, contributing to team development and talent decisions
- Stay current with evolving state regulations and industry best practices
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, or a related field, or possess equivalent experience. A minimum of nine years in property and casualty claims handling is required, with demonstrated expertise in complex case resolution. You must have strong analytical abilities, exceptional negotiation skills, and a proven record of sound judgment when managing sensitive and confidential information.
Preferred candidates will be pursuing or have earned a professional credential such as the Associate in Claims (AIC) designation and have prior experience managing claims in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, or Wisconsin.
Compensation & Benefits
This position offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $95,000, with eligibility for a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, wellness programs, parental leave, adoption support, and tuition reimbursement.
