Progress Software is hiring a Workday HRIS Specialist, Principal

As the Principal HRIS Specialist, you will take ownership of the Workday platform, ensuring its configuration and performance meet evolving business needs. You'll lead system administration, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement new modules with a focus on Payroll, Talent Acquisition, and Performance & Development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and refine Workday HRIS functionality across Core HR, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, and Recruiting modules.
  • Design and maintain custom reports, dashboards, and analytics to support strategic decision-making across HR and leadership teams.
  • Collaborate with HR, IT, and external partners to resolve system challenges and improve integration points.
  • Ensure data accuracy, regulatory compliance, and security standards are consistently upheld within the HRIS environment.
  • Lead system upgrades, implementations, and process improvements, coordinating with cross-functional teams to deliver results on time.
  • Train HR staff on new features and document system procedures to promote consistent usage and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay current with Workday updates and industry trends to proactively address compliance and optimization opportunities.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field is required. You bring at least 10 years of HRIS experience with a strong focus on Workday administration.

  • Proven experience configuring Payroll, Recruiting, and other core Workday modules.
  • Track record of leading HRIS projects and guiding teams through technical implementations.
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail, with the capacity to translate technical data into clear insights.
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with integration setup is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
