Responsibilities
- Build custom themes, plugins, and Gutenberg blocks in WordPress using industry best practices
- Design and manage scalable backend systems with PHP, MySQL, REST APIs, and current coding standards
- Create and maintain advanced WordPress features such as custom post types, taxonomies, user permissions, and content management workflows
- Adhere to WordPress VIP guidelines for code quality, security, and system architecture
- Enhance performance, scalability, and stability of WordPress applications through caching, CDNs, and server-level tuning
- Produce clean, secure, and thoroughly tested code; conduct code reviews and modernize outdated implementations
- Work closely with DevOps on continuous integration and deployment pipelines, release processes, and performance evaluations
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues involving APIs, performance bottlenecks, security flaws, and hosting environments
- Engage in system architecture planning, technical roadmap sessions, and agile development rituals
- Guide junior engineers and help shape engineering standards and technical documentation
