Responsibilities
- Conducts mathematical and economic evaluations of market software and power system outputs to verify price accuracy, congestion signals, and solution optimality in relation to market models, system costs, and grid reliability.
- Supports verification of market results to respond to participant disputes or questions, and aids in assessing issues and potential resolutions.
- Contributes to the development of market operations software, processes, and policies by providing technical knowledge in cost optimization, economic dispatch, transmission systems, generator performance, and pricing.
- Helps detect and resolve challenges related to implementation, design, or integration within designated areas, and may recommend corrective actions.
- Shows comprehension of relevant policy frameworks and regulatory considerations.
- May contribute to market design initiatives to establish validation methods and integrate enhancements that improve solution accuracy.
- May create business practices and methodologies as required.
- Provides analytical and validation support to the Grid Operations Control Room, both remotely and on-site.
