United Overseas Bank (UOB) is hiring a Wholesale Business Finance Officer to partner with business leaders in driving strategic and operational decisions. You will be the financial nerve center for the Wholesale business, delivering insights, managing performance, and ensuring robust governance.
What You'll Do
- Partner with business heads to support strategic and operational decision‑making.
- Provide insights on revenue performance, portfolio trends, margins, cost optimization, and capital allocation.
- Support new product launches, business initiatives, and pricing proposals with financial models and commercial assessment.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, target‑setting, and long‑term planning for the assigned business.
- Analyze performance vs. plan, identify drivers, and recommend actionable improvements.
- Maintain financial dashboards and KPIs for senior management.
- Monitor business line P&L, performance, cost efficiency and RoRWA metrics.
- Drive monthly and quarterly business review packs, commentary, and variance explanations.
- Identify early warning signals and highlight risks and opportunities.
- Build financial models for business scenarios, pricing, sensitivity analyses, and profitability assessments.
- Work with data teams to ensure accuracy, consistency, and automation of financial reports.
- Improve analytical framework for portfolio, product, and customer profitability.
- Ensure alignment with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal finance policies.
- Support audits, compliance reviews, and model validations.
- Strengthen financial controls across business processes.
- Work closely with Treasury, Risk, Accounting, Strategy, and Operations to support aligned decision‑making.
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience in a business finance, FP&A, or commercial finance role within a large financial institution.
- Proven ability to partner with senior business leaders and translate financial data into strategic insights.
- Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance analysis.
- Deep understanding of banking products, P&L drivers, and key metrics like RoRWA.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements relevant to banking.
- Excellent communication skills to present complex financial information clearly.
- Collaborative mindset to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
