Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day welding activities across workshop and/or site
- Ensure compliance with AS/NZS 1554 and applicable procedures
- Review and implement Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and qualifications (PQRs)
- Conduct quality inspections and coordinate NDT requirements
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to welders and trades personnel
- Coordinate workflow to meet production and project deadlines
- Maintain safety standards and promote a strong safety culture
- Liaise with engineering, QA, and operations teams
Requirements
- Trade qualification in Boilermaking / Fabrication
- Proven experience in a Welding Supervisor or Leading Hand role
- Strong understanding of Australian welding standards and QA requirements
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding procedures
- Strong leadership and communication skills
Nice to Have
- Supervisor qualifications (e.g. Cert IV in Engineering or equivalent) highly regarded
- Experience in mining, heavy fabrication, or OEM environments preferred
Work Arrangement
On-site
Additional Information
- Experience with hardfacing, wear packages, or heavy mobile equipment
- Familiarity with robotic welding or automated processes (advantageous)
