nVent is seeking a skilled Welder responsible for interpreting blueprints, performing layout work, welding various materials, and ensuring quality and safety standards.
What You'll Do
- Interpret blueprints and collaborate with the Lead person to confirm job requirements.
- Gather necessary materials and perform layout work according to specifications.
- Set up welding machines and adjust settings for various applications.
- Weld steel, aluminum, copper, and other materials in multiple positions and joint configurations.
- Inspect welds for quality, repairing defective joints as needed.
- Operate cutting torches and manual plasma cutters when required.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area by performing regular housekeeping duties.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least one year of welding experience.
- Able to read tape measures and blueprints.
- Ability to properly operate welding equipment.
- Must be trained in applicable SOPs and work instructions.
- Skilled in utilizing cutting torches, brushes, pads, buffers, grinders, overhead cranes, and rubber hammers.
- Abilities to meet the physical and environmental demands: Standing/Walking for extended periods, Lift up to 50lbs, Work in a non-temperature-controlled environment, Wear the required PPE for the given position.
