Woolpert is hiring a Water Resources Design Project Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Support various phases of our water/wastewater/stormwater/drainage design projects from communication with clients to deliverable generation.
  • Perform technical aspects of specified deliverables and/or leads team of technical staff in creating deliverables consistent with scope, schedule and budget.
  • Manage phases of projects, ensuring completion of work that meets quality assurance requirements.
  • Perform field work, as needed.
  • Analyze and interpret information, including field, H&H, and water quality data, to present to clients in a meaningful format.
  • Meet internal and/or external project deadlines.
  • Complying with and implementing clearly defined QA/QC measures.
  • Communicates issues affecting phase/task or project schedule, budget or quality and escalates unresolved issues to project manager, team leader, and/or discipline leader.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree (BS) in Civil or related engineering program
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD Civil3D
  • Must be willing to perform technical tasks, as assigned, as well as ensure the completion of additional tasks by other team members.
  • Must be willing to work collaboratively with existing team, including mentoring and cross-training
  • Must possess strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills to successfully manage multiple, competing priorities.
  • Must be able to interface effectively with clients, team members, and other firm resources.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be able to make sound decisions/recommendations based on the evaluation and synthesis of project information and data.
  • Must be physically and mentally capable of performing all essential duties required of the position.

Nice to Have

  • Optional proficiency in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software
  • Task management experience is preferred
