AECOM is hiring a Water Capture Lead

About the Role

What You'll Do

Take ownership of AECOM’s most significant water industry opportunities, typically generating over £35 million in revenue. Guide the full pursuit lifecycle by shaping strategies that align technical capability, commercial insight, and client priorities. Lead early engagement to influence project scope, delivery models, and commercial frameworks before formal procurement begins.

Develop comprehensive capture plans using data-driven analysis to prioritise high-value opportunities. Work closely with bid, technical, marketing, and operational teams to build compelling, compliant, and differentiated proposals. Champion a culture of continuous improvement by leading debriefs and applying lessons from past wins and losses.

Shape client narratives that clearly articulate the value of AECOM’s approach, team, and solution. Build trusted relationships with water companies, regulators, and public-sector stakeholders to strengthen positioning and anticipate market needs. Lead executive-level discussions during pre-procurement and bidding phases to establish long-term partnerships.

Direct strategic alliances, joint ventures, and consortiums—selecting partners, defining roles, and ensuring integrated solutions. Influence internal stakeholders to align resources and priorities around key pursuits. Provide clear direction to bid teams and challenge proposals to ensure they are deliverable, innovative, and commercially robust.

Requirements

You will lead major contract captures within the water sector, focusing on regulated water, resource planning, and climate resilience. Use your technical and client-facing background to shape execution strategies, assess risk and pricing, and mobilise delivery teams. Your approach must combine strategic thinking with practical insight to position AECOM competitively in complex, high-stakes procurements.

Success requires strong commercial acumen, the ability to lead cross-functional teams, and experience in shaping solutions for large-scale infrastructure projects. You must be adept at identifying market trends, analysing competitor activity, and translating insights into effective capture strategies. Proven experience in managing partner networks and leading negotiations is essential.
