What You'll Do
Drive the strategic expansion of the Crisis and Security Consulting (CSC) service line across South Africa and key neighboring markets, including Mozambique, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Angola. Develop and execute business development initiatives to scale revenue and market presence, focusing on sustainable, profitable growth.
Lead fee-earning consulting engagements across corporate risk, crisis response, business continuity planning, and governance strategy. Oversee project delivery, ensuring technical quality, client satisfaction, and financial accountability aligned with regional P&L objectives. Prepare and manage proposals using pricing, utilization, and profitability tools, with oversight from senior leadership.
Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, building long-term advisory relationships and coordinating cross-service solutions. Supervise the Johannesburg-based CSC team, providing direct management, performance guidance, and operational support. Ensure timely and effective responses to client and prospect inquiries by aligning internal resources and regional expertise.
Champion innovation in service delivery by integrating technology, global best practices, and recognized standards such as ISO 22301, ISO 22320, ISO 31000, and ISO 18788. Maintain rigorous quality control over written and operational outputs, and contribute to thought leadership within the practice.
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial risk consulting and operational security risk management within a leading consulting organization
- Established reputation as a subject matter expert with senior-level client engagement capabilities
- Track record of growing consulting businesses and leading teams toward strategic objectives
- Deep understanding of risk management, resilience frameworks, and consulting practice operations
- Experience delivering complex risk and resilience projects in challenging environments
- Strong commercial acumen in project scoping, pricing, and financial planning
- Ability to build trusted, long-term client partnerships
- Familiarity with ISO standards including 22301, 22320, 31000, and 18788
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Risk Management, Emergency Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Project management experience in a commercial or consulting context
- Skills in financial, legal, and contractual aspects of consulting delivery
- Leadership experience managing teams of risk and security professionals
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including experience presenting to executive and board-level audiences
Work Location
This role is based in Johannesburg, South Africa, with responsibilities extending to Mozambique, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Angola. The position requires regional coordination and on-the-ground engagement across these markets.
