Position Overview
As a Warehouse Operator, you will manage the receipt, storage, and shipment of liquid and dry chemical products in a high-compliance environment. This role demands attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to operate specialized equipment in support of warehouse and production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload chemical products from trucks, railcars, and tankers using proper procedures and safety measures
- Connect and disconnect transfer hoses and operate valves during product transfer
- Climb tanks and railcars to monitor fills, open hatches, and verify levels
- Inspect transport units before and after use to confirm integrity and compliance
- Verify shipments against documentation and report any discrepancies or damaged goods
- Collect product samples and coordinate with lab staff for quality verification
- Maintain accurate logs of inventory movements using computerized systems
- Stage and prepare orders for shipment according to customer specifications
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and drum pickers safely and efficiently
- Perform daily equipment checks and report maintenance needs
- Move raw materials to production areas and finished goods to storage
- Repackage materials as needed and ensure correct labeling and storage
- Fill containers such as drums, totes, and cylinders and route them to designated areas
- Follow strict guidelines for handling food-grade and USP-certified materials
- Use electronic scales and process devices to measure and track product volumes
- Store hazardous waste in approved areas following regulatory requirements
- Conduct routine inventory checks and assist in physical counts
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe working conditions throughout the facility
- Respond immediately to spills, following containment and cleanup protocols
- Participate in safety training and ongoing compliance programs
- Work rotating shifts, including weekends and overtime as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or military experience
- Ability to obtain or hold current forklift operator certification
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English instructions
- Basic math skills for measuring, weighing, and recording data
- Experience using computers, tablets, and smart devices in operational settings
- Ability to follow safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment, including respirators
- Physical capability to stand, walk, lift, and climb for extended periods
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights on tanks and railcars
- Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Must pass pre-employment screening, including drug test, background check, and physical assessment
- Eligible to obtain a TWIC card for secure facilities
Work Environment
This is an onsite role requiring full-time availability across shifts. Work takes place in an industrial warehouse setting with exposure to chemicals, moving machinery, and variable weather. Safety is a top priority, and all team members are expected to uphold rigorous standards.
