The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is hiring a Warehouse Assistant to support critical supply chain operations in Gaza. This role is central to ensuring the safe, accountable, and efficient flow of supplies that support our humanitarian programs.
What You'll Do
- Ensure all required standard warehouse tools are used as per IRC Warehouse Management SoPs, including donor classification where necessary.
- Manage inventory control for drug storage, cold chain, buffer stock, contributions in kind (CIK), and food commodities.
- Implement IRC inventory policies, including cycle counts, discrepancy reporting, and pharmaceutical quality assurance.
- Develop and maintain accurate material distribution plans.
- Coordinate inventory disposal procedures according to policy.
- Oversee assets maintenance plans, including repairs and insurance coverage processes.
- Ensure the grant inventory report is accurate, regularly produced, and approved before grant closure.
- Coordinate with partner organizations to ensure their representative presence during border clearance processes.
- Draft authorization letters to ensure IRC representation during the clearance of IRC shipments.
- Follow up with partners to ensure timely receipt of delivery reports.
- Follow up with suppliers regarding missing or damaged items and act as the focal point for reporting discrepancies.
What We're Looking For
- Graduation or college degree.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience in supply chain, logistics, or warehouse support.
- Excellent technical knowledge of warehouse, inventory, and asset management.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- A strong sense of personal integrity and attention to detail.
- Team spirit, problem-solving abilities, and a high sense of urgency.
- Flexibility to take on additional responsibilities.
- Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken) is required.
Nice to Have
- Certification in humanitarian logistics or supply chain management.
Team & Environment
This position reports directly to the Senior Supply Chain Officer-Gaza and works closely with the Supply Chain Coordinator and all program sectors.
Work Mode
This is a local, in-country position based in Gaza.
