ClarityPay is looking for a VP of New Business Development - Retail to own the sourcing and development of new merchant partnerships for our point-of-sale credit solutions. You will focus on high-ticket retail industries where financing is critical, such as furniture, mattresses, appliances, electronics, jewelry, fitness, and home improvement.
What You'll Do
- Develop and drive the business development plan for target accounts in the Retail segment and similar verticals.
- Identify, research, and prioritize target prospects to qualify opportunities.
- Source, negotiate, and close new merchant partnerships.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop proposal pricing and terms based on market insights.
- Craft tailored proposals and pitch strategies to compel targets to move forward.
- Partner with internal teams to onboard and launch new clients.
- Support the Client Success team to ensure client expectations are aligned.
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships with platforms and key ecosystem players.
- Positively represent ClarityPay at industry conferences and in the market.
- Update and maintain all records in the sales management system.
- Adhere to defined processes and policies for completing work.
What We're Looking For
- An energetic, positive, collaborative, solution-oriented, and goal-focused individual.
- Deep understanding of merchant needs in the Retail segment and a passion for helping them.
- 6+ years of experience selling to merchants.
- A strong existing network of merchant relationships in Retail at the leadership level and a track record of acquiring new relationships.
- Exceptional communication and executive presentation skills.
- Experience negotiating agreements, pricing, and terms.
- Demonstrated ability to work in early-stage environments, help shape strategy and product, collaborate effectively, and focus on solutions.
- Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.
- Comfort using PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Nice to Have
- At least 2 years of experience in POS financing, PLCC/co-brand cards, or BNPL.
- Financial acumen and knowledge of lending and its key levers.

This is a hybrid role with options to work from Remote, New York City, NY, or Atlanta, GA.
