Responsibilities
- Act as the official instructor and primary educator for all core subjects and grade levels
- Consistently strive to achieve targets for student performance, school culture, and state-mandated academic standards
- Conduct high-quality live online lessons tailored to student needs using evidence-based teaching methods
- Set up and organize each course within the digital learning platform
- Monitor asynchronous course progress and provide daily feedback and grading
- Maintain regular tracking and communication with every student
- Work with the school leader to develop and issue student progress reports
- Regularly analyze individual student data to guide changes in teaching strategies
- Adapt instruction to support diverse learning needs and abilities
- Apply proven, research-backed teaching techniques in both live and self-paced learning environments
- Foster a warm, positive, and supportive virtual classroom atmosphere
- Incorporate culturally responsive practices in lessons and interactions with students, families, and staff
- Uphold school-wide behavioral expectations both inside virtual classrooms and in broader school contexts
- Maintain consistent communication with families about academic and emotional development
- Integrate modern technology skills into daily instruction and team collaboration
- Take part in planning and attending non-academic activities such as field trips and social events
- Work cooperatively, respectfully, and professionally with fellow educators
- Travel annually to support state-mandated in-person testing
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by leadership
