Responsibilities
- Act as the official instructor responsible for teaching students in the Information Technology career pathway
- Deliver subject matter in accordance with the established academic curriculum using digital platforms and diverse instructional techniques
- Manage and implement coursework that meets Career-Technical Education benchmarks
- Design and carry out lesson plans that comply with state-mandated educational standards
- Enhance and modify curriculum using varied strategies and online resources to promote active student involvement for both remedial and advanced learning
- Ensure instructional content meets State CTE requirements or is developed to align with relevant Webxams
- Lead, recruit, and mentor students in forming and sustaining a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) chapter
- Encourage students to meet or exceed expectations in attendance, academics, behavior, and personal development goals
- Foster a constructive school culture through conflict resolution, teamwork, positive feedback, and leadership modeling
- Ensure classroom safety and promote a secure learning environment
- Enforce disciplinary actions in a structured and educationally supportive way
- Keep precise records including grades, progress reports, lesson plans, attendance, and behavioral documentation
- Build and sustain respectful relationships with students, families, colleagues, administrators, and community partners
- Maintain consistent and professional communication with all educational stakeholders
- Conduct home visits when necessary to support student engagement and success
- Administer required standardized assessments as instructed
- Identify and utilize spontaneous learning opportunities during instruction
- Collect, manage, and submit student data and required forms accurately and on schedule
- Create learning experiences that help students apply knowledge to real-world challenges
- Demonstrate proficiency in learning and using data systems and digital tools to design, deliver, and evaluate meaningful learning experiences both in and beyond the classroom
- Uphold confidentiality of student records and professional matters
- Use computers and available technology to enhance and support student learning
- Engage in continuous professional development opportunities
- Collaborate professionally and productively with team members to fulfill job duties
- Participate in assigned school events including meetings, open houses, graduations, field trips, and professional learning communities
