Responsibilities
- Act as the official instructor and primary point of contact for assigned courses
- Consistently strive to achieve targets for student performance, school culture, and state-mandated academic standards
- Conduct live, interactive lessons through web conferencing tailored to student needs and grounded in proven teaching methods
- Set up and organize all course materials within the online learning platform
- Oversee student progress in self-paced courses and provide daily feedback and grading
- Maintain regular contact with each enrolled student
- Work with school leadership to produce and distribute student progress updates
- Regularly analyze individual student data to adjust and improve instruction
- Adapt teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs
- Apply evidence-based instructional techniques in both live and independent learning formats
- Foster a positive, nurturing, and respectful virtual classroom atmosphere
- Incorporate culturally responsive practices in lessons and communications with students, families, and staff
- Uphold school-wide behavioral and cultural expectations within and outside the classroom
- Engage families with consistent updates on academic and emotional development
- Integrate modern digital tools and skills into daily instruction and team collaboration
- Assist in organizing and attending school events such as social gatherings and field trips
- Work collaboratively, respectfully, and with humility alongside fellow educators
- Travel annually to support state-required in-person assessments
- Complete additional tasks as needed by the school or administration
Eligibility
Open to residents of Michigan
Travel and face to face attendance will be required several times per year to support in person state testing and student events
