What You'll Do
As a Commis de Cuisine, you will support the kitchen team in delivering high-quality meals that meet the expectations of discerning guests. You'll work within HACCP guidelines and adhere to established culinary standards to ensure consistency, safety, and presentation across all services.
Requirements
You must have completed formal cook apprenticeship training and bring at least one year of experience from a 4 or 5-star kitchen environment. Fluency in English is required, and additional languages are an asset. Candidates must be self-reliant, guest-focused, and able to thrive under pressure in a structured, fast-paced setting.
Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old, hold an EU passport from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, or Poland (Polish residents are not eligible), and maintain a professional appearance. Visible tattoos are not permitted. Flexibility, teamwork, and dedication are essential traits for success in this role.
Benefits
This position offers a seasonal contract under Swiss, Portuguese, or French regulations, typically lasting around nine months from March/April to November/January. You’ll work an official six-day week with two regular vacation days per month and earn at least one additional leave day for every full week worked—resulting in approximately 7–8 weeks of paid vacation distributed throughout the season.
Travel to and from the vessel is fully reimbursed. Accommodation in shared double cabins and all meals are provided, with only a minimal fee deducted from gross salary as required by Swiss law. Health and accident insurance are included, along with monthly tax declarations and pension fund contributions depending on the contracting country.
Longer-term contracts may be available for experienced crew based on seniority and entity eligibility. Free Wi-Fi is accessible across the ship, and international or maritime experience is highly valued.
