About the Role

The role involves leading the design and development of robotic workcells and automation components, ensuring technical accuracy, manufacturability, and integration within a modular platform.

Responsibilities

  • Design robotic cells and automation systems using 3D modeling software
  • Develop detailed mechanical drawings and documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements
  • Ensure designs meet safety, quality, and performance standards
  • Support prototyping, testing, and validation of new concepts
  • Optimize designs for manufacturability and cost efficiency
  • Troubleshoot technical issues during production and integration
  • Apply principles of mechanical engineering to solve complex problems
  • Work with suppliers to source and qualify components
  • Lead design reviews and present technical solutions to stakeholders
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of robotics and automation trends
  • Contribute to the development of design standards and best practices
  • Integrate sensors, actuators, and motion control systems
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations
  • Support customer-specific project needs when required
  • Use simulation tools to validate system performance
  • Participate in product lifecycle management activities
  • Assist in the creation of technical manuals and training materials
  • Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives
  • Manage design changes through formal control processes
  • Work closely with manufacturing to resolve assembly challenges
  • Evaluate new technologies for potential integration
  • Deliver designs that support rapid deployment
  • Ensure compatibility with existing modular platforms
  • Maintain accurate engineering records and documentation

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in engineering
  • Experience with modular design systems
  • Knowledge of collaborative robots (cobots)
  • Background in mechatronics
  • Experience with international standards
  • Six Sigma or Lean training
  • Familiarity with agile development methods
  • Experience in a customer-driven environment
  • Knowledge of digital twin technologies
  • Proficiency in multiple CAD platforms
