Responsibilities
- Champion a strong safety culture, conduct inspections and audits, ensure incidents are effectively managed, and maintain compliance with legislation and site standards.
- Fulfil statutory Ventilation Officer responsibilities, overseeing mine ventilation and gas systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Provide expert ventilation and gas management advice to the Mine Manager to support operational performance and mine optimisation.
- Develop and communicate ventilation and gas management plans aligned with short-, medium-, and long-term mine planning.
- Conduct gas monitoring (including bag sampling), track system performance, and recommend improvements.
- Monitor system performance and recommend improvements to optimise safety and efficiency.
- Work closely with operations, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver team objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to enhance safety, productivity, and system performance through innovation and technology.
