Responsibilities
- Act as the main technical contact for escalated issues involving HMI components such as passenger displays, audio and visual alerts, interior cameras, and cabin interaction systems.
- Deliver real-time troubleshooting assistance to maximize vehicle availability, including after-hours on-call support when required.
- Perform in-depth root-cause investigations using Linux and Android system logs alongside electrical testing to resolve intricate hardware and software malfunctions.
- Lead ongoing engineering improvements by analyzing fleet performance data to detect recurring problems like phantom touch inputs, screen failures, and delayed audio response, then implement lasting fixes.
- Oversee the initial setup, functional testing, and verification of new HMI hardware, firmware, and software updates.
- Collaborate with HMI and software development teams to enhance diagnostic capabilities and improve visibility into field failure modes.
- Create, update, and refine diagnostic procedures and troubleshooting workflows to empower field technicians to resolve issues more efficiently and independently.
- Establish and document key performance indicators and data requirements to confirm solution effectiveness and track resolution success.
- Travel periodically within the United States to assist with on-site fleet operations and technical support.
