Mineralys Therapeutics seeks a US Regional Field Medical Director - Cardiovascular to lead a regional team of Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs). This field-based Medical Affairs leader is responsible for enabling a high-performing team, translating strategy into execution, and ensuring scientific excellence and compliant stakeholder engagement.
What You'll Do
- Directly manage, coach, and mentor a team of MSLs within an assigned region, providing ongoing performance feedback, development planning, and field coaching.
- Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain a high-performing team of MSLs, fostering a culture of scientific rigor, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Translate Medical Affairs strategy into clear, actionable objectives, field medical plans, and execution of priorities aligned with company objectives.
- Ensure regional MSL activities support disease-state education, scientific exchange, and clinical data dissemination in cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic disease areas.
- Oversee regional KOL identification, profiling, and engagement strategies across academic and community settings.
- Act as a strategic partner to internal cross-functional teams to align on priorities including Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Commercial, and Market Access.
- Ensure all regional field activities are conducted in compliance with company SOPs and applicable regulations (FDA, PhRMA, PDMA, etc.).
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess scientific engagement quality, impact, and operational effectiveness.
What We're Looking For
- Advanced scientific or clinical degree (PharmD, PhD, MD required - other relevant advanced degrees considered).
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Medical Affairs or field-based scientific roles within biotech or pharmaceutical organizations.
- Minimum 3-5 years of MSL experience.
- Prior people management or field leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop field-based teams in a highly regulated environment.
- Strong operational leadership, coaching, and performance management skills.
- Deep understanding of the MSL function, scientific exchange, and compliance requirements.
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical and healthcare landscape, including clinical research, medical governance, regulatory, and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent scientific communication, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills.
Nice to Have
- Therapeutic experience in cardiology, renal, metabolic, or related disease areas preferred.
- Experience supporting medical launch activities, or pre-commercial organizations highly desirable.
- Ability to translate complex scientific and clinical data into clear, relevant messages.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence without authority.
- Strategic mindset with strong executional discipline.
Team & Environment
You will lead a regional team of Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) within a field-based Medical Affairs structure, reporting to Medical Affairs leadership.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation range: $240,000 - $255,000.
