About the Role
This position supports US clients with accounting and compliance tasks, requiring expertise in US tax and financial reporting standards while operating remotely from Latin America.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review US tax returns for individuals and businesses
- Maintain accurate financial records according to US GAAP
- Assist clients with year-end financial reporting
- Respond to client inquiries regarding accounting processes
- Collaborate with team members on complex tax scenarios
- Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations
- Support audits and financial reviews as needed
- Manage client accounts through accounting software
- Track and reconcile accounts on a monthly basis
- Provide guidance on tax planning strategies
- Stay current with changes in US tax legislation
- Prepare financial statements for small and mid-sized businesses
- Assist in payroll tax preparation and filings
- Conduct account analysis for accuracy and completeness
- Communicate deadlines and requirements to clients
- Maintain confidentiality of client financial data
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions
- Handle multi-state tax filings when required
- Review bookkeeping entries for consistency
- Support transition of new clients into the system
- Identify discrepancies in financial documentation
- Offer recommendations for process improvements
- Work within deadlines for tax submission periods
- Coordinate with external auditors when necessary
- Use cloud-based platforms for document sharing and collaboration
