Urban Drainage Modellers are needed across AtkinsRéalis UK offices to support water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including drainage design, SuDS, and surface water management. You will develop computer models, analyze data, support engineering solutions, and contribute to client deliverables for water companies, local authorities, developers, and potentially international clients.
What You'll Do
- Development of computer models to investigate water network issues and investment needs and generation of outline solutions
- Analysis of data
- Supporting the development of engineering solutions and advising clients to help them make better asset investment decisions
- Support development of reports and other project deliverables
- Prepare (and adhere to) health and safety risk assessments
- Support in the development of tender responses and fee estimates at higher grades
- Supervising and developing staff and providing guidance to support their professional development at higher grades
- Contributing towards technical innovation
What We're Looking For

Nice to Have
- Experience/awareness of urban drainage modelling within InfoWorks ICM (or CS)
- Experience with GIS packages such as ARC or MapInfo
- Background in civil engineering
- Understanding of UK Water Industry and regulatory issues
- Experience in Wastewater modelling and distribution networks
- Building and calibrating network models
- Using network models for planning, operational and solution development purposes
- Experience with InfoWorks ICM (or CS) and other modelling software
- For senior roles: experience in model build and verification, hydraulic and water quality analysis, catchment planning, Drainage and Wastewater Management Planning (DWMP), solution development and technical leadership
- Expertise using InfoWorks ICM and ICM Exchange
- Proven track record in coordinating and delivering technically excellent projects
- Ability to check the work of others to provide quality assurance and drive continuous improvement in work delivered to the client
- Implementation of industry leading solutions and development of innovative solutions
- Management and technical supervision of a team of waste water modellers
- Supervision of report writing and check and review of outputs
