Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors seeks an Underwriting Assistant to provide vital support to senior underwriting staff in evaluating and processing non-admitted personal lines and homeowners insurance policies. You will work within a dynamic, technology-driven environment focused on continuous learning and customer service.
What You'll Do
- Assist senior underwriters with risk analysis by reviewing loss history and financial condition of cases.
- Collect, study, and evaluate documentation to determine insurance eligibility and risk.
- Conduct preliminary reviews of complex submissions to identify errors and confirm eligibility.
- Collaborate with the underwriting team to finalize applications and process accounts from quote approval through policy issuance.
- Utilize multiple databases to gather and verify necessary information for submissions.
- Manage inbound customer calls, providing guidance and ensuring a smooth customer experience.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong customer service skills with effective communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and aptitude for learning industry-specific software quickly.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments.
- Eagerness to learn, adapt, and embrace change in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Nice to Have
- Minimum of 1 year underwriting or related insurance experience.
- Industry certifications such as CPCU, CIC, CRIS, or a Property & Casualty Brokers License.
