We are looking for an Underground Mine Maintenance Technician to coordinate, execute, and direct electro-mechanical maintenance for all underground mine equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring equipment availability and reliability while strictly adhering to safety, environmental, quality, and occupational health standards at our División Chuquicamata site.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate, control, and execute programmed, predictive, and corrective electro-mechanical maintenance, ensuring quality whether performed by internal or contractor personnel.
- Provide technical support for fault diagnosis in mining equipment.
- Perform inspection, monitoring, analysis, electrical-electronic diagnostic activities, and implement solutions using techniques, software, instruments, and manuals.
- Carry out continuous improvement actions using techniques, software, and instruments.
- Record and use data in maintenance information systems (such as SAP PM), report and prepare failure reports.
- Review technical information for equipment to define spare parts, procedures, and/or instructions.
- Control and/or perform maintenance and component changes on equipment.
- Operate support equipment for maintenance activities, such as overhead cranes, forklifts, or crane trucks.
- Comply with internal procedures, regulations, and instructions established for maintenance, as well as quality, safety, occupational health, and environmental standards.
- Coordinate, execute, and control the execution of maintenance work on mining equipment, which may be performed by collaborating companies.
- Maintain contact with line of command, coordinate with work teams and other areas, and report risk conditions or abnormalities detected in the work area.
- Participate in the implementation of change processes within the work area.
- Contribute to operational excellence by applying organizational policies regarding technological innovation and process optimization.
- Ensure at all times the safety of yourself and colleagues, taking immediate corrective actions against any substandard condition and/or action.
- Support business sustainability by verifying regulations, programs, and procedures for safety, occupational health, environment, and quality within your scope.
What We're Looking For
- Must be certified as a Medium Level Technician and/or Higher Level Technician and/or Execution Engineer in mechanical, electromechanical, industrial maintenance, automotive mechanics, mechatronics, industrial or similar specialties.
- For Medium Level Technicians: Must have at least 3 years of experience working in mine equipment maintenance.
- For Higher Level Technicians or Execution Engineers: Must have at least 1 year of experience working in mine equipment maintenance.
- Must have a valid Class B driver's license for driving pickup trucks.
- Must have health compatible with the position.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of Underground Mining Equipment maintenance: LHD, Jumbos, Hammers, Trucks.
- Knowledge of Diesel Engines, electrohydraulics, Lubrication, Powertrain, brakes.
- Software skills: Office, SAP, Equipment Monitoring.
- Class D, A5 driver's license for operating overhead cranes, forklifts, or other.
