CHS Inc. is hiring a Truck Driver/Operations Specialist

Position OverviewWork at the heart of agricultural logistics as a Truck Driver/Operations Specialist in Lakota, ND. This role blends hands-on driving responsibilities with essential facility operations to support farming customers with critical inputs. Expect a varied schedule shaped by seasonal demands, where no two days are exactly alike.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate trucks and manage railcars during loading and unloading, including handling hatches, hoses, and securing connections
  • Transport fertilizer, seed, feed, chemicals, and other agricultural products safely and on schedule
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections and document pre-trip and post-trip checks in compliance with federal regulations
  • Use forklifts, loaders, and other equipment for warehouse and inventory handling
  • Maintain accurate records for deliveries, maintenance, and inventory tracking
  • Inspect and service equipment regularly, reporting needed repairs promptly
  • Keep workspaces, vehicles, and grounds clean and hazard-free through routine cleaning and snow removal
  • Follow all safety protocols and report unsafe conditions or potential hazards immediately
  • Respond to customer feedback and escalate concerns to management as needed
  • Support overall facility efficiency by completing assigned tasks across operations and customer service

Qualifications

Candidates must have at least one year of experience in trucking or operations and hold a valid Class A CDL. Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English is required, along with the ability to interpret traffic signs and follow transportation regulations.

Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, Hazmat, Tanker, or Air Brake endorsements, and prior experience with bulk liquids, pressure trailers, or forklifts. Background in agriculture or customer-facing roles is a plus. Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends may be necessary based on operational needs.
