Bank of Montreal (BMO) is looking for a Trilingual Remote Personal Lending Specialist to join our Asian Market Team. In this role, you will understand customer needs and provide credit and lending-related sales and service to BMO customers or prospects. You’ll advise customers on borrowing strategies and products, working through various channels to deliver a strong customer experience and achieve business objectives.
What You'll Do
- Probe to understand customer needs and provide advice related to personal banking and borrowing strategies.
- Manage all transactional outcomes of customer contacts or defer to appropriate internal business groups.
- Escalate complex or unresolved customer situations to managers as required.
- Perform any required documentation to ensure customer requests are accurately processed.
- Maintain current knowledge of personal banking and lending products, practices, and trends.
- Research and investigate lending applications, following established processes.
- Handle customer contacts in an informed, professional, and efficient manner.
- Integrate marketing promotions and programs into customer conversations where appropriate.
- Maintain the confidentiality of customer and Bank information.
- Identify and report suspicious patterns of activity related to money laundering.
- Adhere to regulatory and compliance requirements, including Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing reporting.
- Make credit decisions and recommendations in accordance with sound credit-granting principles and Bank Policy & Procedures.
- Use authorized credit qualifications as needed to fulfill customer requests.
- Complete complex and diverse tasks within given rules and limits, which may include handling escalations.
- Analyze issues and determine next steps.
- Provide training and coaching to junior associates as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Typically between 2 – 3 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field of study is desirable, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of personal lending and home financing products.
- Knowledge of the competitive marketplace and trends in product offerings.
- Knowledge of contact centre operational processes and policies.
- Knowledge of call centre technology, processes, and metrics.
- Term Investment Qualified (as required).
- Specialized knowledge relevant to the role.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organization skills.
- Good collaboration and team skills.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills.
- Proficiency in Mandarin and Cantonese is a must-have.
