Position Overview
Join a forward-thinking nursing education institution as a Travel Nurse Clinical Instructor, responsible for delivering high-quality instruction across the United States. This role, internally designated as Assistant Professor, Nursing Education, requires frequent travel to various on-ground learning sites within assigned regions. You will lead instruction in clinical environments, simulation labs, and skills training settings, ensuring students meet rigorous academic and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and evaluate nursing curriculum across Practical Nursing, Baccalaureate, and Master’s programs in diverse educational settings.
- Supervise student performance during clinical rotations, simulations, and lab sessions, ensuring alignment with course objectives and accreditation standards.
- Maintain consistent communication with learners regarding attendance, progress, and academic outcomes, submitting evaluations and reports on schedule.
- Enforce compliance with clinical partner facility policies and uphold professional expectations for student conduct.
- Participate in faculty meetings, collaborative decision-making, and curriculum development initiatives as required.
- Support additional academic needs such as didactic instruction, assessment activities, NCLEX preparation, and special projects as assigned.
- Adapt to changing schedules and locations, including early mornings, evenings, and extended shifts based on facility availability.
Qualifications
Required:
- Graduate degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
- Active, unrestricted RN or APRN license in your state of residence, with ability to obtain multi-state licensure as needed.
- Commitment to earning the Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) credential within one year of hire.
- Minimum two years of recent clinical nursing experience within the past five years.
- Current immunizations and certifications as mandated by accreditation or state boards.
- Up-to-date expertise in multiple areas of nursing practice.
Preferred:
- Two years of experience overseeing clinical education.
- One year delivering Concept-Based Nursing Education.
- Experience in distance education and familiarity with learning management systems, particularly Canvas.
- Proficiency with modern technology platforms and adaptability to new software tools.
Work Environment
This is a fully onsite position with 100% travel across designated U.S. regions, including Eastern, Central, and select Western time zones. Schedules vary based on clinical site access. While placements are regionally focused, operational demands may require temporary assignments outside the primary region. Faculty are expected to work all three 15-week semesters annually, with clinical instruction occurring during at least 11 weeks per term.
