Responsibilities
- Teach hands-on skills to students in an in-person lab setting
- Demonstrate proper technique for a given skill and provide live step by step tasks for students to perform
- Assess students’ lab and clinical competency for skills and provide feedback
- Review and evaluate the required skills students must demonstrate
- Communicate regularly with students over email and other communication tools
- Join weekly meetings to receive guidance and direction from the internal team at Stepful
- Provide ongoing support, troubleshoot issues, and prepare and plan for future modules, as needed
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience teaching surgical technology, including course delivery, assessment, and student support
- 3+ years of experience working as a Certified Surgical Technologist in a clinical setting
- Active NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist or NCCT TS-C certification
- Experience with digital tools for teaching and reading lesson plans
- Experience teaching students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Stellar writing and communication skills
- Ability to work approximately 32 hours per week for the duration of the program
Work Arrangement
On-site — Decatur, Georgia
Additional Information
- This is a 1099 contract role requiring onsite instruction for the duration of each cohort assignment
- Instructors may support full cohort delivery or provide substitute coverage for existing programs as needed
- Candidates should be local to the assignment location or willing to travel for the duration of the cohort
- Travel, lodging, and per diem support are provided for instructors traveling to program sites
- The initial cohort assignment will take place at our employer partner site in Decatur, Georgia beginning in August
- This onsite assignment runs for 11 weeks, with instruction taking place Monday through Thursday from 7am to 2pm EST
- Additional opportunities to support future cohorts in other locations across the U.S. may also be available
