Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive transportation plans supporting mobilization, demobilization, site access, and on-site movement of people and assets.
- Create and optimize routing, scheduling, and fleet utilization to maximize efficiency, safety, and on-time performance.
- Manage third-party transport providers and in-house fleet operations, including contract management, performance monitoring, and cost control.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, road safety standards, permits, visas/work authorization, and company policies; coordinate with security and risk teams on transport-related security measures.
- Conduct risk assessments for transport operations, implement mitigations, and lead incident investigations related to transportation.
- Develop and manage transportation budgets, forecast demand, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, fuel efficiency, utilization rates, and incident rates.
- Collaborate with warehouse, logistics, and supply chain teams to align inbound/outbound material flow with project schedules.
- Plan for contingencies (weather, security incidents, road closures) and maintain continuity of transport services.
- Maintain accurate transportation records, compliance documentation, vehicle maintenance logs, and incident reports.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training for transport personnel.
- Liaise with local authorities, port/airport authorities (if applicable), and vendor partners to ensure smooth operations.
