We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Planner to join our friendly team at our Minworth site on a full time permanent basis! Salary: £30,541 per annum. Working hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. As a Transport Planner you will oversee the day to day planning of the transport operation. A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a busy transport department, able to deal with day to day challenges and provide cost effective solutions to the customer. Key Duties of a Transport Planner: - Subcontracting and planning orders out of multiple warehouse facilities and manufacturing sites across the UK. - Planning daily workload for fleet: vehicles based on and off site. - Dealing with queries and issues by telephone, fax and email from our customers, sub-contract hauliers and warehousing sites. - Liaising with Traffic and Administration teams to ensure the highest standards of performance are maintained at all times. - Maintaining, creating and updating spreadsheets and databases for customer reports. - Reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that arise. - Support the fleet and driver training team as and when required. - Complete pre and post de-brief for all driver shifts. - Deliver effective, professional and timely internal and external communications. Be able to demonstrate a high level of transport planning expertise in a busy and demanding environment. Have excellent problem solving, analytical and organisational skills. Be able to make decisions under pressure, and to a tight timescale. Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business, particularly at peak periods during the year. Be able to communicate well at all levels within the business. Have the ability to identify and suggest improvements to benefit both the Company and our customer. Be a highly motivated individual able to work as part of a small friendly team, and under own initiative. Knowledge of SAP, BPCS and Road Runner would be advantageous.
