AECOM is looking for a Transmission & Distribution Senior High Voltage Primary Engineer to lead engineering teams in the design and execution of primary circuit projects. You will partner with global and regional project teams to deliver critical infrastructure.
What You'll Do
- Lead a team of engineers and technicians in the design and execution of primary circuit projects.
- Coordinate with stakeholders including project managers, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Oversee the development of primary circuit designs, including substation layouts, overhead lines, and underground cables.
- Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to optimize designs for efficiency and reliability.
- Perform power system studies like load flow analysis, fault analysis, and protection coordination studies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in primary circuit design.
- Provide on-site support during construction, commissioning, and maintenance activities if required.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, project reports, and status updates.
- Ensure accurate documentation of primary circuit designs, modifications, and as-built drawings.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in T&D primary circuit design and project management, with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Proficiency in engineering software tools like AutoCAD and Microstation.
- Strong understanding of primary circuit design principles, including substation design, overhead lines, and underground cables.
- Excellent project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and resource management.
- Experience with high-voltage primary circuit projects.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, AS).
- Effective communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer license.
