Michels Utility Services, Inc. is hiring a Transmission & Distribution Estimator

Responsibilities

  • Foster and uphold a robust safety culture, ensuring adherence to all safety and environmental policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Evaluate bid requirements for projects ranging from approximately $500,000 to $10,000,000, ensuring comprehensive documentation of all project aspects.
  • Create detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for transmission and distribution construction projects.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to obtain vendor and supplier pricing.
  • Identify, manage, and maintain relationships with subcontractors, ensuring comprehensive and timely bid coverage.
  • Actively follow up with subcontractors to encourage competitive bid participation.
  • Develop project schedules and cost forecasts.
  • Monitor and analyze budget-to-actual comparisons throughout the estimating process.
  • Work with Project Management teams to follow up on bids, budgets, and secure business opportunities.
  • Accurately transfer bid documents and subcontractor buyout information to Project Managers.
  • Review drawings with Project Management teams and identify risks, scope gaps, and constructability concerns.
  • Maintain precise, organized estimate documentation and bid records.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
