About the Role

GE HealthCare is hiring an entry-level Transient Analysis Engineer to join our Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) analysis team. You will apply state-of-the-art methods to perform thermal-hydraulic and plant transient analyses, supporting critical projects like reload analysis, power uprates, and new power plant licensing.

What You'll Do

  • Perform thermal-hydraulic and plant transient analyses to support BWR reload analysis, power uprate, and new power plant analyses.
  • Lead projects including technical evaluations and analyses in plant transients, thermal hydraulics, Anticipated Transients without Scram, Heat Balances, and thermal hydraulic fuel channel analyses.
  • Deliver products at a high and sustainable level in accordance with customer requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines.
  • Quickly learn and apply analytical methods, procedures, and techniques to solve problems.
  • Prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, and calculations.
  • Provide engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the area of transient analysis.
  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers.
  • Implement continual improvement of transient analysis work processes.

What We're Looking For

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or similar).
  • Ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with BWR core simulation and thermal-hydraulic systems codes.
  • Background in power plant or process plant thermal hydraulics.
  • Fundamental knowledge of BWR Systems and integrated plant response.
  • Honest and straightforward with a high level of personal integrity.
  • Strong personal commitment and determination.
  • Detail oriented and accountable for results.
  • Ability to communicate with credibility and humility.
  • Strong drive for continuous improvement.

Work Mode

This position is eligible for a hybrid work model, with primary locations in Wilmington, NC, or fully remote from within the U.S.
