Samsung Electronics Canada is looking for a Trading Category Manager to act as the commercial owner of our Smartphone product category. In this role, you will work alongside our Smartphone Lead to deliver direct-to-consumer sales growth through Samsung.com, focusing on delivering commercial KPIs and building a compelling proposition for our mid-tier and entry-level Smartphone products.
What You'll Do
- Deliver commercial KPIs for Smartphone through Samsung.com: sales revenue, volume, share of business growth, and profitability.
- Own the sales, price, and promotional plan for mid-tier and entry level Smartphone products through Samsung.com.
- Drive profitable sales through effective management of investment and a deep understanding of the Smartphone P&L.
- Deliver incremental sales and return on investment through promotions and sellout platforms.
- Drive improvement in secondary KPIs: channel sales, traffic, conversion, average order value, forecasting, availability, and aged stock.
- Own the management and development of sellout platforms (e.g., Trade In) and their contribution to sales.
- Effectively manage the Go To Market strategy for new mid-tier and entry level Smartphone products through Samsung.com.
- Manage and collaborate with partners within the MX Division to deliver wider Samsung business objectives.
- Lead the wider eCommerce team in executing the plan through Samsung.com and Performance Marketing channels.
- Own the quarterly planning process for mid-tier and entry level Smartphone products through Samsung.com, aligned with the MX Division.
- Identify commercial priorities within the category and effectively brief executional teams to deliver them.
- Brief and deliver the plan through partners in Merchandising, UX and Performance Marketing, holding them accountable to targets.
- Regularly report against performance targets and implement tactical course correction to meet sales objectives.
- Ensure efficient operational management through accurate forecasting and reporting of sales plans to the business and HQ.
- Implement trading governance, ensuring clear and precise actions are delivered through multiple cross functional partners.
- Lead effective crisis management, guiding the wider team in problem-solving as issues arise that pose a customer or sales risk.
- Work with Finance and Operations to ensure short, medium and long term forecast and sales planning is delivered accurately and timely.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in an eCommerce Trading or Commercial role in a multichannel or pureplay retailer.
- Strong commerciality with a firm understanding and delivery of key financial numbers.
- Strong planning, briefing and organisational skills.
- Ability to be flexible and react at short notice in an organised way.
- Strong communicator, with clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical, with the ability to digest and understand complex data sets and make recommendations accordingly.
- Proven capability in achieving results through others by influencing vertically through the organisation.
- Strong problem solving capability.
Team & Environment
You will work within the DTC Division and collaborate extensively with partners in the MX Division. You will also lead the wider eCommerce team in execution.
