Betclic Group is looking for an experienced Trader specializing in Rugby to be part of our growing sportsbook department in Malta. You will be responsible for delivering an industry-leading betting product across European markets, with a strong focus on rugby events and betting markets.
What You'll Do
- Conduct pre-event and in-play trading of rugby and other sports such as Cycling, Golf, Table Tennis, and Badminton when required.
- Manage liabilities and risk management for UK Sport events and a diverse range of betting markets.
- Deliver a leading betting product for European regulated and non-regulated markets.
- Study, execute, and critique dynamic trading strategies.
- Compile odds for specials and novelty markets in addition to the standard betting offer.
- Understand and augment automated trading systems.
- Carry out research and analysis of trading performance.
- Liaise with internal teams including marketing, VIP, and customer services.
- Settle markets promptly and accurately.
- Monitor and analyze customer activity, reporting findings to the Client Risk Management team.
- Handle technical or settlement issues and any other incidents affecting the company's trading.
What We're Looking For
- Sports trading experience with a minimum of 3 years in a trading role.
- Good knowledge of rugby events, players, and betting markets, particularly the French leagues.
- Understanding of fixed odds, betting exchanges, and general betting principles.
- Experience compiling odds for specials and novelty markets.
- Ability to work unsociable hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays based on business needs.
- Experience using third-party trading providers like BetRadar or BetGenius.
- Strong mathematical and analytical/statistical abilities.
- Organized and competent at multitasking.
- Able to constructively challenge ideas and approaches.
- Sound knowledge of MS Office programs, particularly Excel.
- High attention to detail and the ability to think methodically and logically under pressure.
- Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Ambitious and versatile attitude with a strong passion for the sports betting industry.
- Target-driven with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Good English language and excellent communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Fluency in French, which will be considered an asset.
