Sierra Meadows & Ascend Behavioral Health was looking for a Therapist

Sierra Meadows & Ascend Behavioral Health is hiring an Associate Therapist to provide direct therapeutic services to clients. In this role, you will deliver care guided by the organization's mission, vision, and values, working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct group, individual, couple, and family therapy.
  • Provide direct therapeutic care under limited supervision.
  • Provide crisis-intervention as needed.
  • Oversee patient’s progress in treatment and ensure level of care is appropriate based on medical necessity.
  • Complete initial assessments, biopsychosocial evaluations, treatment plans, therapy notes, and discharge plans within required time frames.
  • Oversee insurance compliance including utilization review and medical necessity criteria.
  • Ensure coordination of services for families and multi-disciplinary team members.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary staff meetings.
  • Consult with intake coordinator.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and community standards of care.
  • Participate in agency quality improvement activities.
  • Follow and improve clinical objectives, standards, policies and procedures.
  • Travel occasionally during the workday and on occasional overnight stay.
  • Maintain regular attendance at work and company activities and demonstrate punctuality.
  • Expand and update job knowledge through educational opportunities and professional learning.

What We're Looking For

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Current state license as a mental health therapist (ACSW, AMFT, APCC), with an active 1st associate number in accordance with the Board of Behavioral Services (BBS).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working with culturally diverse individuals and communities or demonstrated commitment to strengthening community engagement.
  • Familiarity with equity and/or diversity initiatives within an organization.
  • Sufficient written and oral communication skills to perform essential functions.
  • Ability to make decisions independently and use initiative to accomplish complex assignments with general instruction.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and integrity on the job with confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to organize time and other resources to perform multiple tasks.
  • Ability to complete work accurately and in a timely manner with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with others and to provide effective team leadership.
  • Proficiency in word processing and database and/or spreadsheet applications.
  • Physical and mental attributes sufficient to perform essential functions.
  • Ability to recognize merit, excellence and intelligence in staff and potential employees.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Nice to Have

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in mental health / substance abuse treatment field.
  • Proficient in English Language.
  • Proficient communicator.

Team & Environment

You will work collaboratively with internal and external partners and participate in interdisciplinary staff meetings.
