Emma – The Sleep Company is looking for a Director of Software Engineering to provide technical leadership and strategic direction for our software development efforts. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall health, quality, and delivery of our technology platforms.
What You'll Do
- Define and execute the software engineering strategy and roadmap
- Lead, mentor, and grow multiple software engineering teams
- Establish and enforce engineering best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment
- Drive architectural decisions and ensure the scalability, security, and reliability of our systems
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and business stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions
- Manage resource allocation, project timelines, and technical budgets
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in software development, with 5+ years in a senior technical leadership role
- Proven track record of leading and scaling high-performing engineering teams
- Deep experience with modern software architecture, system design, and cloud infrastructure
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate business needs into technical strategy
- Excellent communication skills for articulating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Experience in agile methodologies and product-driven development environments
