Johnson Controls is hiring a Territory Manager to drive strategic growth for Fire Suppression Standard Products within the state of California. This remote position focuses on developing relationships and credibility across the contractor customer base and supply chain partners.
What You'll Do
- Achieve yearly revenue targets and goals.
- Call effectively on the local contractor community within your designated territory.
- Become an active participant in relevant industry associations.
- Develop account plans for key and target customers aligned with the company's channel strategy.
- Monitor and manage price strategy to align with current market conditions.
- Report business forecasts and participate in team calls with internal colleagues and channel partners.
- Ensure new products are introduced effectively and in a timely manner.
- Bring new product ideas to the product management team.
- Coordinate training at all levels for the customer base.
- Enter all sales activities and manage territory pipeline within Salesforce.com.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in sales, preferably in construction, fire protection, or a related industry.
- High energy, self-starter with the ability to represent our company with the utmost professionalism.
- Political savvy across customer organizations and our company.
- Effective, strong communication with the West Regional Sales Manager and internal and external business partners.
- Strong business acumen and ability to adapt to customer needs.
- Strong negotiating skills.
- Demonstrated strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written, including proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to travel 75% within the assigned territory.

- Familiarity with Power BI.
- A background in fire suppression.
