About the Role

Role OverviewThe TEG Clinical Specialist acts as a trusted clinical resource for customers using thromboelastographic (TEG) technology, delivering education, hands-on training, and ongoing support to healthcare providers across a designated region. The specialist ensures effective adoption and sustained use of TEG systems in clinical practice, focusing on safety, efficiency, and optimal patient management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary clinical contact for existing and new accounts, providing expert guidance on TEG technology and its applications
  • Deliver comprehensive training on equipment operation, software use, and result interpretation for clinicians across specialties including critical care, cardiovascular, trauma, transplant, and high-risk obstetrics
  • Support implementation at new sites, including go-live phases across all shifts and departments
  • Strengthen utilization in current accounts by expanding test applications and identifying opportunities for growth
  • Develop relationships with clinicians, laboratory staff, and decision-makers to promote best practices and long-term adoption
  • Lead educational sessions, including grand rounds and market development events, to increase awareness and proficiency
  • Respond to clinical and technical inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate solutions with internal teams
  • Train and empower clinical champions to support peer adoption and sustain program success
  • Collaborate with sales and implementation teams during lab setup, validation, and workflow integration
  • Maintain accurate records in CRM systems and contribute insights to sales planning and forecasting
  • Stay current with clinical advancements through professional development, conferences, and literature review
  • Support device upgrades, software enhancements, and competitive conversions within the territory
  • Provide occasional after-hours support during critical implementation phases

Qualifications

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (RN) or a related clinical discipline, along with at least three years of experience in critical care environments such as ICU, CICU, ER, or trauma units. Proven ability to engage with senior medical staff and a background in hemostasis monitoring are essential. Prior experience with TEG® Analyzer systems, software navigation, and clinical protocol development is strongly preferred.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid position based in San Antonio, TX, with remote flexibility and up to 25% travel within the assigned territory. The role requires regular site visits to hospitals within approximately 45 minutes of a major airport. Travel includes both day trips and occasional overnight stays, particularly during customer onboarding.
