What You'll Do
Produce clear and effective instructional content, including user manuals, quick-start guides, and safety documentation for kitchen and consumer products. Turn complex technical data into accessible, step-by-step instructions that support real-world use.
Ensure all materials meet regulatory standards such as UL and FCC, and align with internal brand requirements. Work closely with engineering, design, legal, and compliance teams to gather accurate information and refine deliverables.
Collaborate with visual designers to develop diagrams and illustrations that improve understanding. Lead usability reviews to identify areas for improvement and enhance the overall customer experience. Manage multiple documentation projects in a fast-moving environment driven by product launches.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, English, or a related discipline
- 3–5+ years of experience creating instructional content for consumer electronics, small appliances, or hardware
- Strong grasp of usability principles, information design, and accessibility standards
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, product specifications, and compliance requirements
- Proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, FrameMaker, or comparable layout tools
- Excellent writing, editing, and organizational abilities with close attention to detail
- Ability to work across departments and adjust to changing priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience coordinating multilingual documentation or working with translation partners
- Familiarity with digital instruction formats or UX writing
- Knowledge of structured content or information architecture principles
Work Mode
This is a hybrid role based in Stamford, CT. Employees are expected onsite Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.
