Bowhead is hiring a Technical Writer to join our team supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Division. In this role, you will revise and create standardized material for technical reports, manuals, briefs, and administrative publications related to equipment operation, maintenance, and installation.

What You'll Do

Collaborate with various teams and customers to ensure correct information is incorporated into technical documentation.
Access manufacturers' catalogs, drawings, blueprints, and product samples to understand and document equipment operation and maintenance.
Organize material and complete writing assignments according to set standards for clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
Draft technical content, including articles and material regarding work methods and procedures.
May provide direction to lower-level Technical Writers.

What We're Looking For

A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience in a professional, non-Government technical writing role.
Experience with MS Word templates and formatting.
Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures.
Advanced skills in the Microsoft Office software suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work under challenging deadlines and be accountable for completing work within a specified timeframe.
Strong communication skills for interacting with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment, with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, stand and walk for prolonged periods, and twist, bend, and squat periodically.
Must be able to obtain a Secret-level security clearance. US Citizenship is required.
